Mansfield: Sinkhole Develops On Sturges Ave, Portion Of Roadway Closed

A large sinkhole has developed on Sturges Ave in Mansfield, which has caused a portion of the roadway to close.

The closure is between Ohio and Mendota Streets.

According to RichlandSource.com, Mansfield Engineer, Bob Bianchi, said, he is estimating the road will be closed for a couple of weeks, but mentioned - it’s too early to say what exactly will be needed.

An excavator was brought to the site on Thursday and Binachi said, a major concern is the condition of the steel culvert, which is likely around 6 decades old.
